Halo: When worlds collide chapter 22

1130 Hours, May 3, 2530(Military calendar)
unknown system, unknown planet, Onu-Wahi

           Gali looked out of the window and saw the mountain getting closer to them, she had never gone this fast before without the use of the mask of speed, tho the mask of speed would still be a lot faster then this, but it was best for them to stick together and not split up any more then they have to. She walks into the cockpit and looks out the front window and points to a big cave. “there, thats the entrance to Oun-koro.”
           The pilot nods, “alright, ill land so you all can get out, but then I need to get out of hear, a trnasport like this wont last long under Covenant fire.”
           Gali nods, “get out of hear safe.”
           “I do what I can.” he lands the transport just outside of the cave and some Marines open the hatch as Matoran, human Civilians and Marines start walking out, the Marines staying in the back and watching the rear to make sure they were not followed. The Transport left as soon as everyone was far enough away. It would most likely be about a half hour before the other transports get there. In that time need to get the vilagers of Oun-koro to trust them and start making this place a good defendable position.
           Gali looks to the others, “ill go in quick and talk to the Tuaraga before you get there.” Before anyone could say anything, she changes to her secondary mask of speed and runs into the cave.
           Deeper in the cave, Toa Onua was just about to head to a cave to help some matoran with some mining, when he heard the footsteps of Gali coming from one of the entrances to the vilage. He was surprised that she was in such a hurry to get there, “Gali? Whats the rush?” Onua, had a combination of black and silver armor, he had two blades that had smaller moving blades on them, working sort of like chain saws.
           She stops right infront of him, “I need to talk to you and Whenua, its important.”
           Ouna nodded, “he is in his hut.” the two Toa then walked to the hut and went inside
           Whenua turned as he heard Gali and Ouna enter, “ah, Gali, welcome, I hope your journey hear was a safe one”
           Gali slowly nods to him, ready to tell him the bad news, “Ga-Koro and the other vilages have been abandoned, all of the matoran are coming hear.”
           “What?!” Onua said in shock, “why?”
           Gali starts to inform them about the humans and the covenant, “they say the safest place to be is underground, thats why we all relocated hear, I just hope the other vilagers get hear alright.”
           Onua nodded, “im sure they were warned in time, but are you sure these... humans can be trusted?”
           Whenua looks to him, “I doubt Nokama would have called for this massive relocation if she was not completely certain about this.”
           Onua thought about it for a moment, “you got a good point Whenua, ill help the matoran get places for the other vilagers to stay, the mines that have been cleared out could make good places for them to stay.” the Toa head out and starts informing the Matoran and they all get to work.
           A few minuets later the Ga-Matron and humans walk into the massive chamber the village is in, Nokama in front of them all to make sure that she is the one seen first to not cause a panic. She sees Whenua and walks over to him, “Whenua, im sure Gali has alrady informed you about what is going on... what do you make of all of this?”
           “Im not quite sure Nokama, but im sure Vakama will.” he looks around and sees the humans seting up some peaces of equipment that looked sort of like things they had back in Metru-Nui, tho not as advanced. He looks back to Nokama, “im sure there leader will be able to give us more information as well. um... witch one of them is there leader? I cant tell who is in charge.”
         Colonel Potter walked up to them, “im not exactly in charge, but I lead the ground operations of this group, Im Colonel Potter of the UNSC, that stands for United Nations Space Command, our peoples military force.” he holds out a hand to shake with Whenua, tho he is confused by this gesture, “its a human thing... you hold my hand and we shake, its a sign of friendship or making a deal from where im from.”
        “Oh, I see” Whenua said as he shook Potters hand.
        “I got word from the other transports before we got hear, the other villages have been evacuated and they are making there way hear, after that we will regroup our forces to repel the covenant attack on the beach near Ga-Koro.”
        “These... covenant, can they be stopped?”
        Potter looked to him, “we'll do what we can, and im sure the help of your Toa will give us the edge we need.”
        “We will do what ever we can do to help, this is our home and we have no intentions to let anyone take it from us.”
        Later the first group lands outside the cave and the matoran from ko-koro, followed by po-koro then le-koro. Ta-koro was the last to arrive because they were the farthest away. All the Toa and turaga gathered in Whenua's hut, Potter was explaining the different Convent races they could encounter, such as the grunts, Jackals, elites and hunters, as well as the best way to attack them, such as fire being really good on the hunters and grunts. “alright, that covers everything, now get to the Pelican just outside the cave to get to the beach with our reinforcements, good luck. We will give you all more information when you return.”
         The Toa left without asking anything, not because they didn’t have questions, but because they knew that time was not on there side, outside they saw a strange thing they assumed was a Pelican that some troops and the Spartan Tahu meet before were getting on.
         John looked over to them as they boarded the ship, “you ready for this?”
         Tahu responded, “yes, we have faced bad things in the past, we will face this just the same.”
         John just looked to him, “you have never faced anything like the covenant, trust me.” he checked his assault riffle and looked out the back of the Pelican as the blast door closed and it lifted off and made its way to the battlefield.
